John Spencer

Chairman

Trained from the age of seven at the Coventry Cathedral Choir School and a member of BMOS since 1984, John has played many leading parts over the years and has also given many solo recitals, concerts and even had a stint at the Birmingham Rep. Theatre work ranges from street theatre with the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School to Community Miracle Cycle and many lead roles with BMOS at the Birmingham Hippodrome. His many principal parts for BMOS have included – Julian Marsh in 42nd Street, Hans Anderson in Hans Anderson, Curly in Oklahoma!, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, Zach in a Chorus Line and Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music.

Claire Hemming

Secretary

Claire is certainly part of the wood work! Having received her 20 year service medal from NODA at the end of 2013. Claire’s passion is for dance and she trained in Ballet, Tap, Ballroom and Latin. Some of her favourite shows include 42nd Street, Seven Brides, West Side Story and Crazy for You. Claire was thrilled to be taking part in 2014 production of South Pacific, returning o the New Alexandra Theatre again after the success of Carousel 2013. Claire maintains the motto ‘you are never too old to dance!’.

Maria Raymond

Treasurer

Maria has been involved in Musical Theatre since the age of 13 and has been dancing since the age of 2. Her mother was heavily involved in local theatre groups as she grew up, so not surprisingly she got the bug. Maria has done a variety of roles both on and off stage – and is currently the company treasurer. Working within the financial industry when the past treasurer stepped down, she was asked to support until someone else could take up the role. That was 14 years ago!
Whilst being on the management committee can be a stressful and time consuming role, when the finished production is put on stage, and the audience shows their appreciation during the performances, it is all worth while. History is now repeating it’s self as her daughter has become involved in the productions as well.

John Ryan

Social Secretary

John has been a member of BMOS since 1996. Previous shows that he has appeared in with BMOS are Oklahoma!, Red Hot and Cole, Hello Dolly!, The Sound of Music, Crazy for You, A Chorus Line, Carousel, South Pacific, The Full Monty, Fiddler on the Roof and Sunshine on Leith. John is an active member of the BMOS committee and currently holds the position of Social Secretary.

Patrick Pryce

Committee Member

Pat joined BMOS in 2010 making his debut in Wallop Mrs Cox at the Hippodrome. Since then he has played the lead of Robbie in the Wedding Singer, Zach in A Chorus Line, Jigger in Carousel, Luther Billis in South Pacific and Mordcha the Innkeeper in Fiddler on the Roof.

Kirsty Tudor

Committee Member

Kirsty has always had a passion for musical theatre. It all started when she performed in musicals at secondary school, starring in productions such as Cats, Bugsy Malone and Little Shop of Horrors. She joined BMOS in 1999 and played the part of Alice in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and has since appeared in many productions such as The Hot Mikado, Guys and Dolls, Me and My Girl and most recently, The Full Monty, Fiddler on the Roof and Sunshine on Leith.  Being part of BMOS is not just a hobby for Kirsty, it’s about being part of a family and there is nothing better than celebrating the success of a show with your family.

Tim Reeves

Committee Member

Tim is a relatively new member to BMOS having joined the company during their popular and greatly well-received production of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ in early 2015.  Two shows later sees him taking on the role of a military scout in Calamity Jane, BMOS’ next big production at the New Alexandra Theatre in the heart of Birmingham.

With a background in animation, having worked on commercial VFX, games and childrens TV, this ‘stage stuff’ is all very new, but in his own words he ‘couldn’t be in better and more welcoming company
