Les Misérables – Let the People Sing
Tuesday 10th – Saturday 14th June 2025 at the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham
Casting update
We are pleased to announce the cast for Les Misérables. There is a huge amount of talent across the West Midlands and this was evident at the auditions. This resulted in some stiff competition and some hard decisions for the audition panel.
Aside from the principal roles, we have selected people to sing all the one-off solo lines and these are listed below.
Upcoming auditions
Jean Valjean
We now welcome applications to audition for the role of Jean Valjean. Find out how to apply here.
Children’s roles
We will be announcing the audition process for the children’s roles very soon. Follow the BMOS Facebook Page and Instagram account for further announcements.

Information about this Production
BMOS Musical Theatre Company will be producing the West Midlands amateur premiere of the show, with the collaboration and support of West Bromwich Operatic Society, Bilston Operatic Company and Bournville Musical Theatre Company.
Show week is Sunday 8th June to Saturday 14th June 2025. There will be a total of seven performances, from Tuesday 10th – Saturday 14th June (five evening performances plus two matinee performances on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th). You will need to take annual leave for any of those days which you normally work. You will be required all day on Sunday 8th June until 11.00pm and all evening on Monday 9th June for the dress rehearsal. You may be called during the day all through show week.
Anyone taking part in the show will be required to attend the following rehearsals:
- Every Tuesday evening in November 2024 (none in December)
- Every Tuesday from 7th January 2025 until show week
- Also Thursday evenings from 24th April 2025 until show week
- Every Sunday afternoon from 27th April 2025 until show week
While we will tolerate the occasional planned absence (up to three in total), from 29 April 2025 until show week no absences whatsoever will be tolerated so it is important you do not book any holidays during that time.
Participation Fee
Given the high costs associated with producing such an exceptional show, there will be a participation fee of £500. This is reduced to £250 for people affiliated with one of the participating companies. Affiliation means having performed in one of the last three shows for one of the companies:
- BMOS Musical Theatre Company
- West Bromwich Operatic Society
- Bilston Operatic Company
- Bournville Musical Theatre Company
You need to have paid all the fees by the end of March 2025, and would encourage monthly standing orders to our account to make the payment more manageable and ensure less admin.
We are running a Bursary Scheme to support individuals who are less able to cover their own costs, and offering discounts for people under the age of 25 or those older in full time education. Your can find out more about these on our Bursary and Discounts information sheet.
Other Information
- Children’s auditions will be arranged in the New Year.
