Based on the Dreamworks Animation Motion Picture and the book by William Steig. Everyone’s favourite ogre is back in Birmingham! BMOS Musical Theatre Company proudly presents Shrek the Musical, the hilarious stage spectacle based on the Oscar-winning, smash hit film.
Shrek the Musical brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to this story than meets the eye. Enchantingly fun for the whole family, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.
“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek….” And there begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing quest alongside his trusty sidekick Donkey to rescue the beautiful, gutsy Princess Fiona. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a fire-breathing dragon, a cookie with a chip on their shoulder, and gang of other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of swampy chaos that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.
Shrek the Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring songs like “I’m A Believer”, “Big Bright Beautiful World” and “Freak Flag”. This unforgettable musical extravaganza will have you humming all the way home and is a journey you won’t want to miss.
